Setting up the cameraLesson 4 of 8
Line the camera up with the bed
This works out where the camera is looking, so a design placed on the picture lands in the same place on the machine. Do it again whenever the camera moves.
Put in a sheet of scrap you are happy to mark, and size the target to fill most of it. Markers spread wide pin the camera down better than markers bunched together.
Engrave the markers. They must come out as solid filled squares. Hollow outlines cannot be read, and you will not find out until after the burn.
Do not move the material or the camera from here. Either one moving undoes the line-up, and there is no way to tell from the picture that it happened.
Press the button and the camera finds the markers. Four is enough to work, and more found means a more accurate result, so a couple missing is not a problem.
Check the number the app gives you, then prove it: draw a box round one marker and mark it lightly. It should land on the marker.
