Getting startedLesson 3 of 11
What actually cuts
Every layer has an output switch, and it decides on its own what goes to the machine. The canvas keeps drawing shapes whose layer is switched off, so the screen and the sheet can disagree without a word.
The steps
- Open the Cut layers panel. Every layer has a switch.
- A layer switched off still draws on the canvas and is never sent.
- Before you press Start, read the run sheet: it counts what will actually cut.
- If the count is lower than what you see, a layer is off. Turn it on and the count changes.
One real job
You draw a star and a circle. The star sits on a layer somebody switched off last week. Everything looks right, you press Start, and the machine cuts a circle on a sheet you cut for a star.
